The Butterfly Room

A Space for Families

The Butterfly Room is a private bereavement suite designed for parents and siblings to spend precious time with their baby in a peaceful, comforting environment.

Why it matters

Traditional NICU rooms are designed to care for critically ill and premature infants. They are often small and filled with medical equipment, making it difficult for families to experience privacy and say goodbye in a way that feels personal and meaningful.

A gift of time

The Butterfly Room gives families the opportunity to slow down, connect, and create lasting memories with their baby during an unimaginably difficult time. In a space designed for comfort and peace, parents can hold their child, welcome loved ones, and cherish every possible moment together.

Making a Difference

In July 2024, the first Butterfly Room opened at Miami Valley Hospital. Since then, it has provided comfort, peace, and healing to countless families facing the unimaginable.
